RWWA Outreach Industry Consultation

by admin on May 1, 2012

During May 2012 RWWA’s Chief Executive, Richard Burt and General Manager Racing, Ken Norquay will be conducting a number of Outreach Sessions around the State as part of their ongoing consultative process across the three codes.
BOTRA continues to raise with RWWA that meetings with Industry Participants must be planned around times suitable for Trainers/Reinspersons and Owners to be able to attend.
Meetings are planned for: Narrogin 7th May 11.00am, Albany 14th May 09.00am, Northam 17th May 01.00pm, Bunbury 22nd May 09.30am, Pinjarra 23th May 09.00am, Gloucester Park 24th May 11.00am and Kalgoorlie 31st May 06.30pm.
Please consult RWWA or a BOTRA Committee Member for meeting locations.

These are important meetings to attend as this forum is one of the few opportunities Harness Racing Participants have to get first hand information and access to the RWWA decision makers for any questions.
BOTRA would encourage all participants to attend their local meeting.

BOTRA is delighted with the feedback it has received as a result of the implementation of the $15 trial drivers fee. Front line 7- Back Line 5

April 15, 2012

It may be hard to remember for some but it wasn’t that long ago that each track had different starting configurations (9 across the front, 6 across the front, etc.). BOTRA pushed hard for a consistent approach and to have some alignment across WA tracks. The 7 across the front and 5 across the back [...]

Just by way of an update the HPR hasn’t been progressed any further at this stage after it was not accepted by the Eligible Harness Racing Bodies at their regular meeting. No doubt with the appointment of Barry Hamilton to the Harness Manager role at RWWA this will get the deserved attention and resources to [...]
